Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

I hope you are having a nice summer and had a safe and enjoyable July 4th.

On June 27, 2024 the Apprenticeship Program held the 2024 Graduation Ceremony. This year’s class included 23 talented and hardworking graduates. This class had the unique challenge of starting their apprenticeship during the Pandemic. They successfully navigated starting a new career under unusual circumstances, including remote classes and a variety of Covid protocols. This group adapted to the situation, doing very well over the four years, and coming together as a class. The Graduation Ceremony was a fun night to celebrate this group after a long but rewarding four years. Special thanks goes out to Training Center Office Manager, Michele Maimone, for organizing an awesome night for the Graduates.

The 2024 Graduating Class includes:

Lisha Antoine, Jonathan Benoit, William Corrigan III, Tyler Dempsey, Michael Ekstrom, Zachary Eldridge, Robert Gagnon, Loreto Gobbi, Alex Gomes, Mark Hassett, Jr., Josh Hebb, Garrett Kane, Brendon Kourafas, Zach Locurto, Shane McDevitt, Owen McNamara, Kevin Meehan, Max Morin, Brian Murphy, Jr., Delilah Shaw, Jayme Skelton, David Tripp, Chery Victoria.

On behalf of the entire Training Center staff, I would like to congratulate the Graduates. Best of luck, we wish you a safe and prosperous new chapter of your career.

We have a new group of probationary Apprentices that began going out to work on June 1. This group will start the school year in September, but you may see them on the job this summer. Please give them a warm welcome, it’s a good group of new apprentices and they are excited to get to work.

With an eye towards the fall, the Training Center will once again be opening for applications starting on November 1, 2024. Any interested candidates should be directed to our website at Local4Training.org and submit an interested candidate form. Once again, this year the application period will be open for the entire month on business days and select Saturdays by appointment only.

Thank you to Business Manager Mike Bowes and Worcester Business Representative Jim Marenghi for hosting a great event with the WooSox at Polar Park in May. It was a fun night spent with members and their families in the Union built ballpark.

I hope you all have a great rest of the summer, and please reach out if there is anything we can do to help you.
